About Us
The Smith Motor Group of companies is a quiet achiever and many South Australians would recognise the Smith’s name from the former Holden dealership in Port Adelaide. Established back in 1922, the business was synonymous with good old fashioned service.
The Smith estate sold the business in 1987 and as it continued to flourish, this enabled the business to expand into other dealerships in both metro and regional SA. From this expansion, the need to centralise the overall management of each dealership, and new business ventures, was integral for ongoing growth, and from this the Smith Motor Group was formed.
Today the Smith Motor Group includes 19 businesses across 3 states including: vehicle and caravan dealerships, financial services, vehicle leasing & management and crash repair. Whilst the Smith’s name was founded on the Holden brand, today the group offers a range of leading brands including: Nissan, MG, RAM, Mitsubishi, Ford, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Isuzu, Kia and Suzuki.
A proud South Australian, the Smith Motor Group employs 300 people across Australia.
